RED Requirements & Concepts explained..
1. Climate Protection Budget
One option to address the climate crisis is to allocate a significant portion of the country's resources towards transitioning away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy sources. This budget, referred to as a climate protection budget, could represent 5-10% of the gross national product, which would finally be 4-8 times larger than some current defense budgets of western countries, eg.Germany.
>> Making climate stabilization a key focus of mobilization efforts
2. Climate Mediation
In order to effectively address the climate emergency and ensure our collective survival, it is necessary to prioritize mediation and work towards ending conflicts and acts of war. This also requires the development of a plan to manage and address the mass migration of billions of people that will likely result from the impacts of global warming on a global scale.
>> Unite to combat the common enemy of climate chaos
3. Safe Targets
It is necessary to revise our emission targets to go beyond just achieving climate neutrality. Zero emission targets based on 1990 levels are insufficient, as we must aim to reduce greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere back to safe pre-industrial levels.
>> Stable GHG levels at 1750; 280ppm C02; 600ppb CH4
4. Poison Fossils
It is suggested that fossil resources should be viewed as harmful and their extraction and distribution should be either banned or heavily taxed following a short transitional period.
>> Production Tax on fossil fuels; eliminate subsidies; legally phase them out
5. Transform Fossil Industries
Revamp the fossil fuel industry through initiatives like replacing outdated technologies with newer, more efficient ones, phasing out financial support for these industries, and providing assistance for companies that transition to cleaner forms of energy. Remove regulatory barriers that hinder the development and use of renewable energy sources, storage, and distribution systems, and establish a new framework for the energy market to promote the adoption of sustainable practices.
>> Accelerate the transition to clean energy
6. Promote employment for renewables
Structural reforms that prioritize the transition to renewable industries, leading to the replacement of fossil fuel industry jobs.
>> Optimize employment through targeted workforce development
7. Carbon sequestration through biological processes
Accelerating the restoration and rejuvenation of agricultural soils, wetlands, and forests in order to promote healthy, climate-active ecosystems.
>> Enhance ability of agriculture, forests, wetlands & oceans to store more carbon
8. Carbon sequestration through industrial processes
Implementing industrial processes that capture and sequester carbon from the atmosphere, through the production of wood, carbon fibers, and other solid carbon products, in order to transform the construction industry and all industries and factories into carbon-neutral systems.
>> Increase sustainable wood and carbon material usage
9. Climate-induced migration
Leveraging advances in productivity and innovation to significantly increase access to high-quality employment for all citizens and new migrants.
>> Growing regenerative economies presents opportunities for all
10. Specialized Financial Institutions
Establishing a financial system that rewards investments in environmental sustainability and regenerative practices through the use of innovative financial instruments, such as negative interest rate currencies issued by specialized banks, in order to drive the transition to a more resilient and sustainable economy
>> Mainstreaming of long-term, climate-stabilizing investments
Special Acknowledgement to Professor Peter Droege:

Since 2008 and before, Prof. Peter Droege is relentless promoting 280ppm CO2 & 600ppb CH4 levels as safe & stable targets. This demand has found & continues to find a lot of attention in the international climate community. Therefore, we strongly encourage everybody to contribute to his advice by taking bold action (see RED description) on a local & global level to stabilize our climate. The Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development GmbH,
located in Berlin, Germany, is dedicated to advancing scientific research and knowledge transfer projects focused on sustainable spatial development, regenerative urban planning, the expansion of renewable energy sources and distributed energy resources, regional eco-productivity, and innovations in rapidly regenerative infrastructure development. We collaborate with various partners including public institutions and organizations, cities and municipalities, and private companies and investors to implement experimental research and development initiatives in a thoughtful and intelligent manner. Our expertise and emphasis lies in supporting and driving forward the renewal of climate, energy, economic, and spatial resilience through research and mediation. We disseminate our research insights and specialized knowledge through various channels including publications, conferences, seminars, research consulting, and career development opportunities.
The Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development AG in Vaduz (FL),
assist private and public organizations in becoming more resilient to climatic, energetic, and economic changes by guiding their transformation in a way that enhances both the ecological and economic value of their infrastructure in order to mitigate against and adapt to climate change. We create urban and regional energy master plans and offer sustainability consulting for urban development projects. Our work is particularly focused on providing effective strategic and operational large-scale urban development advice.
